Hey Mark, I’m not a young guy, pushing 30 and I wanted to get back in shape and really play hoops hard again.  Before starting the Intermediate Plyometrics program in GMV my standing vert was right around 27 inches and I wanted to make a push for 35 in order to be able to really dunk again.
